      Thanks for your question. A lot of the equipment we use is very expensive, because when we conduct scientific experiments, the equipment has to be made to a very high quaility to make sure our results come out right. The equipment is also often available only to scientists, so it is very specialist, which also makes it expensive.

      We try to use the most cutting edge technology in our work, although sometimes money is an issue, and we don’t have enough! For example, an MRI scanner can help us look at how the brain functions, but they can cost up to £2 million for the best quality ones!
