As a Fellow of the Royal Society of Chemistry, nothing beats good old-fashioned memory maps! But supplement that with a bit of rap; check out the song by Oort Kuiper called “Rapping the Elements” (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lDp9hUf_SV8). This will get a jiggy chorus imprinted into your brains (music that you like helps the brain remember!). Way cooler!

As boring as it sounds, I learn best by repetition. So put a copy of the periodic table EVERYWHERE and I mean EVERYWHERE. Put it in your bathroom for when you brush your teeth in the morning, put it by your bed on the wall so you can go through it again before you go to sleep. Put it in the kitchen so you can say it back to yourself when you eat your tea, EVERYWHERE.
I think a combination of that and Damian’s rap, you’ll know it as well as any scientist does!

I still remember how hard it was to remember all the elements of the periodic table in chemistry! Try this http://m.youtube.com/#/watch?v=zUDDiWtFtEM&desktop_uri=%2Fwatch%3Fv%3DzUDDiWtFtEM
