I’d say its our heart as a muscle (Although some of the scientists may disagree!). It is constantly contracting to pump blood around our bodies.
Just think if the average heart beats about 70beats a minute, thats 4200 an hour (70x60mins), then 100,800 beats in a 24 hour period!Thats enormous!
The vast majority of the body is always in use, even when you are asleep. Even the muscles are always functioning. The heart and brain obviously have to be working all the time or you would simply die.
There are some parts of our body that just have to work all the time, otherwise we would stop living. There are lots of bits that are constantly working, like Alan and Liam say, the heart, the brain and the lungs all have really important jobs that don’t stop!
